When left is right and right is wrong it's easy to get confused
When up is down and good is bad, and win looks a lot like lose, it's a press conference
at the White House with a President who's all bad news
He says he hears the word of God and it tells him what to do, 'cause he can't figure it
out himself and continue to walk and chew
He wants us to conquer the infidels, sink a few more oil wells, maybe build a few
hotels, a plot that has some parallels with empires that were really swell for
those on top until they fell and left behind a funky smell like dead skunks on
the road to Hell and, as for truth, don't ask, don't tell 'cause we've got products
we've got to sell
Does anything here ring a bell?
So truth ain't what it's supposed to be and yes is no and free ain't free
We've traded it for homeland security, surveillance cameras on every tree
But safety is a fantasy
So, when things at home get kind of tense, we'll build a higher, tighter fence
And, as a tribute to our common sense, we'll start a war in self-defense
But who remembers yesterday, the enemies who came out to play?
Russia, China, Germany, Japan, Spain, England, Mexico, man!
They used to be the ones to hate but now we're friends and business is great
They're no longer evil, they're just like us
It's Muslims and Allah making a fuss
They're dark-skinned and noisy, bowing down in the dust, religious fanatics while
we're just, we're just.....a right that's wrong, an upper crust
Jesus Christ! Who can you trust?
Fundamentally speaking, it's all a bust
But war is good and peace is bad, 'cause people will want what they've never had,
a piece of the pie, a reasonable deal, which will make it harder for the rich to steal
So they'll censor the news, that's no sin,
They're not lying, it's only spin
Their bottom line is that they win
So when left is right and right is wrong, and the President lies like a Siren's song,
and he wants to mount a new crusade with our kids up front in a crazed parade,
remember his time in the National Guard, absent without leave and partying hard
